Rumours are rife that Apple is toying with the idea of a phablet-size iPhone 6 and it has an edgy design on release date. Yet a new concept of the device refuses to just ditch the revered iPhone profile.

For perennial iPhone concept maker Ran Avni, partnering this time with Hassen Cad, Apple will stick with the tried and tested iPhone template but with tweaks that will definitely appeal to the phablet crowd.

The duo's render pictured the large-screen smartphone looking exactly like its older siblings, at least on the initial glance.

On a closer inspection, indeed all the known iPhone elements are present: the iOS 6-era apps icon, the physical Home button, the general device screen interface and the smartphone profile that is slim, thin and light plus a mix of squared edges with curved corners.

Apple's signature dominated the entire device body-built - encased in a combo of metal and glass. The metal wraps most of the iPhone 6 with the design tapering off at the middle section, creating a slightly curved handset when viewed from the side, which makes for easier handling when in use.

At front, the phone is protected by a sturdy material, presumably a Corning Gorilla Glass 3-make that is both durable and flexible. The render shows off a screen size that stretches 4.8-inch diagonally, also carrying the Retina display component.

While the screen is massive compared to the older builds, it is not expected to bring in a too big footprint thanks to an edge-to-edge design that leaves a virtual no-bezel effect around the viewing window.

The specs are pretty much open-ended but should adhere to the logical upgrade pattern that points to the concoction of a portable mean machine in iPhone 6 - the latest A-series chipset with likely a 2GB of RAM and starting off with 16GB of internal storage.

The render indicates of iOS 6 icons but should be capable of absorbing the black and white look of the revamped iOS 7.

There is one wish that Messrs Avni and Cad would want to see on iPhone 6's rumoured June 2014 release date - a 3D cam snapper that packs a dual 8MP sensor working in tandem with a 3.2MP front cam for Full HD FaceTime experience.

Obviously, the concept steers away from earlier designs that promote the wrap-around screen build, complemented by disappearing or invisible control keys.

開發商希望iPhone作業系統可有新風貌，以利對抗三星Galaxy 4S。新顯示器將有更多黑白風格，且操作更直觀簡單。據稱，這樣的改變來自蘋果設計長John Ive的大力推動，他希望不只iPhone，而是蘋果全部產品都該使用iOS。

至於推出iPhone 6 和 iPhone 5s的傳聞，現階段沒有具體支撐點，但先前曾有傳聞iPhone將進攻國外新興市場，尤其是手機逐漸興盛的阿拉伯聯合大公國 (UAE)，當地手機使用率提升，只是顧客必須變更SIM卡才能使用。

此外，電信業者Verizon調降iPhone價格，讓許多產業人士猜測新一代iPhone可能最快今年夏季就會推出，因為依據過往經驗，舊款手機開始降價時，就是新款手機即將上市的訊號。

然而，此回iPhone降價的幅度與前幾代iPhone上市前的降幅不相同，根據《International Business Times》的說法，iPhone 5售價仍高，尤其是零售商庫存仍多的澳洲市場，因此這些地區在下一代iPhone 宣布之前，可能不會降價促銷。

然而，蘋果執行長庫克 (Tim Cook)曾暗示，iPhone 6和 iPhone 5s可能要到9月才會公布，他甚至還公開說過，蘋果今年不會推新設備。
